The remote start stopped working on my 2015 Expedition, it has worked fine up until a week ago. Everything else works fine from the key fob and I don't have any warning lights on my dash. What should I check? It wouldn't bother me any other time but of course winter suddenly hit hard here and my garage is 100' from my house. When it did work it started my truck in the garage from the house everytime.

Does the remote start feature not work using both fobs?

Scan for any stored trouble codes, which can disable the remote start feature.

You probably have a check engine code/light. My 2017 will not remote start when there has been a check engine code tripped.

I tried what 99WhiteC5Coupe and DieselMonk suggested, thanks for the help BTW. I scanned it for stored codes but there weren't any and yes it doesn't start with either fob. My battery will be 2 years old this coming February but I tested it anyway and it's in the good zone. The cable ends looked good also but I pulled them off and gave them a brushing. In the end the remote start function still doesn't work. So what am I overlooking?

I no longer have the 2015 Expedition Limited I bought new.

I recall a remote start feature / options in one of the screen menus. It allowed for a certain period of time to allow the engine to run AFTER remote start. I don't recall if there was a setting to disable the remote start?

Perhaps check your settings' menus to see if the remote start feature has been disabled?

Make sure to check the underhood switch. View attachment 86280
I check for obvious problems with the underhood switch and worked the button down and up a few times. I shut the hood, locked the doors then tried the remote start and it fired right up. I've used the remote start three more times while out shopping and it has worked everytime. Who knows what was actually wrong but it works and I'm happy. Thanks for all of the input from everyone!
