I need to replace the outlet on the rear side of the console. It works, but the outlet itself seems to be worn out as its loose and nothing will stay plugged in unless I hold it. I bought the truck used and just noticed the issue. I identified and ordered the new plug for just over $20, so at that price its not even worth my time for a trip to the dealer to try and make it a long shot warranty claim.

What I need to figure out is how to replace it. Is there a simple way to get the console disassembled to access that plug for replacement?

Yes, it is very easy. You just pull up the plastic frame that houses the rear cup holders. It will open a large access to reach the wires and plugs for HVAC, radio, and the AC outlet.
