Replacing my 07 expedition

I have recently been told that the engine in my 07 expedition needs about $8000 worth of repairs. Unfortunately at 211,000 miles I can't put that kind of money into it, especially since the transmission also has some problems. I have found a 2017 expedition xl that I like but it has 150,000 miles on it. I know nothing about the 3.5 ecoboost engines and if that's to many miles for that engine. I also don't know the problems, if any, that can occur with the later 3rd generation. Any advice is great, I do know about the recalls it had, but how do all of you with these engines feel about them? I'd rather hear from people who have actually owned them then google reviews.
