Roof Rails! Will any other years/models fit 2000 XLT

    Any 1st Gen ('97-'02) roof rails should fit - note that the '97-98 brackets are slightly taller, but will still fit. I changed out my brackets ('97 XLT) for the lower profile brackets from a '01, to help the roof profile. The '97-98 get the worst mpg, so every little thing helps

    You could try going to your local junk yard. They be pretty cheap there i assume. I know there a guy on here and he has like three or four roof rack cross member things on his.

    I failed to note that the brackets I changed to, were sourced from the junk yard. It may be cheaper to buy the whole cross member with brackets attached, rather than individual brackets
