So their "fix" is to disable the welcome mat essentially? Thats some nonsense if you ask me. I'm a big fan of the Lincoln logo projecting on the ground
After buying a new 1999 Corvette coupe, soon the steering column locked-up and prevented the car from being driven.
I was out-of-state on vacation with my wife, in a rural area. We were stranded and the car had to be flat-bed towed to a dealer. The vacation was ruined and we were stuck for several days in a town we did not intend to stay in (our expense).
Later, GM issued a safety recall for the vehicle (while still under the new car warranty). The “fix” was to disable the steering column lock feature (not repair it), with no compensation for the vehicle owner. It was an anti-theft vehicle feature that I paid for with the cost of the new car and warranty.
Lincoln is not the only one to disable a feature included on a vehicle.
