Sourcing an OEM Intake Manifold?

The manifold has gone on my 2000 5.4 Expedition at 145K miles. The standard cracked crossover failure. I have it out of the car and was all set to replace it with an OEM part (2L1Z-9424-AA) but my local dealer and 3 or 4 online shops have all told me that the Ford part is not currently available due to a "stop order". They have no estimate for when they might be available again.

I know I could go to a pick and pull, but I don't have any good ones near me and I'm a bit short on time to get the car fixed and in service again. Also I would assume any high mileage car would be subject to the same manifold failure. I picked up this one from Napa which looks like a rebranded Dorman unit... which certainly has some negative reviews around here.

Does anyone have any ideas for where to get the OEM part? Should I use a different aftermarket brand? I am at a loss at this point and resigned to just doing this job once now and then again in a few years.

Thanks. I did check ebay but without being able to see the crossover, I don't feel good about buying it. I'm going to just throw in the dorman this weekend and expect that it may need replacing again in the future.

I replaced my OE lower with the Dorman cast part from RockAuto and I have had no issues. Granted aftermarket parts can be problematic but with the lack of OE parts, they are something we have to deal with. The only other option we have with our older vehicles is scrapping them to buy Teslas.

That's good to hear. How many miles do you have on the Dorman manifold now?

I got everything installed and back together last weekend. So far a few drives and everything seems to be working great. I feel like the new spark plugs and coils have actually restored some power too!

Just an FYI, but I have learned that most non-mechanical, cast-metal Dorman parts usually work/fit pretty well, but I would not use them for anything inside the engine or drivetrain, as sometimes their tolerances/clearances aren't quite as accurate as OEM parts

I replaced the exhaust manifold on my dad's 2004 Durango with a Dorman part in 2012 (I also could not find OEM parts at the time), and it's still running as good now as it was after I installed it...
