SSM 52881 - 2018-2022 Expedition/Navigator – "Park Brake Limited Function Service Required" Message In The IPC
Some 2018-2022 Expedition/Navigator vehicles may exhibit a "Park Brake Limited Function Service Required" message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) and diagnostic trouble code (DTC) C2008:13 or C2007:13 stored in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. This may be due to an open circuit in CCB16, CCB17, CCB18 and/or CCB19 located approximately 10 inches (254 mm) from the left and/or right rear parking brake actuator motor connector C4478 and/ or C4479. Prior to performing normal Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics, check for continuity in circuits CCB16, CCB17, CCB18 and CCB19 from connectors C139 to C4478 and/or C4479. If an open circuit or high resistance has been verified, inspect the wiring in this area by peeling back the conduit and tape and repair as necessary. Refer to Wiring Diagram, Cell 005. If no open circuits or high resistance are found, perform normal diagnostics using Pinpoint Test I, located in the WSM, Section 206-05.
