SSM 53141 - 2023-2024 Escape/Corsair, 2022-2024 Expedition - Various Driver Assistance Feature Warning Messages Displayed In The Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC), Various Invalid Data/Lost Communication Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) Stored In Various Modules

Some 2023-2024 Escape/Corsair vehicles equipped with driver assistance features with minor feature code DBCAB for Escape and minor feature code DBCBC for Corsair and 2022-2024 Expedition vehicles equipped with driver assistance features with minor feature codes DBCBB and DBCBC may exhibit driver assistance feature warning messages displayed in the IPC. Additionally, some modules may store invalid data/lost communication related DTCs. The image processing module A (IPMA) should not store these DTCs. To confirm a vehicle is built with a certain minor feature code, review the build information by double-clicking the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the upper left corner in the Professional Technician System (PTS). This condition may be due to the software in the IPMA, causing it to not communicate on the network. To restore communication and functionality, download and run the IPMA - Image Processing Module A (IPMA) Recovery app in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. Once IPMA communication has been restored, download and run the IPMA - Image Processing Module (IPMA) Alignment app, recheck DTCs and confirm that all warning messages are cleared from the IPC. If these steps correct the condition, release the vehicle back to the customer. Advise the customers that a permanent repair to prevent recurrence is expected to be available to dealers by the end of February 2025 and schedule a service visit at this time. This software update is also expected to be delivered to vehicles over-the-air (OTA) starting in March 2025. Software will update automatically if vehicle connectivity is enabled in the vehicle's settings. If the IPMA still does not communicate on the network after performing the recovery app, continue with normal diagnosis. Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 419-07 > Lane Keeping System > Diagnosis and Testing.

Please be aware that the Minor Feature Codes mentioned above are associated with vehicles equipped with:
* Ford Co-Pilot360
* Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+

This Special Service Message does not apply to vehicles equipped with Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0.

I have a few questions on this topic.
It just started happening again three days ago. I thought I had this fixed when they replaced my cruise control module last year, but it's back again.
Codes are coming back as
- U0104 Lost comm with Cruise control module IPMA
- B115E no signal - IPMA
- B12BF right camera no signal - IPMA
- B12BE left camera no signal - IPMA
- U2008 Sensor cluster bus message - failure cruise control module.

The dash flashes "Pre-Collision Assist Not Available" system chimes 3 times, then it goes away, then it happens again 30 seconds later. every 30 seconds until I stop moving. I'm assuming image processing module A is either bad or has a loose connection because this is sporadic at best.

Last night I pulled the fuse 137 advanced driver assistance systems and cameras, I just couldn't take the chiming and messages anymore. 20 min car rides were unbearable.

Service is scheduled for early December, but any suggestions or guidance I can give the techs?

Loose connections will usually report an ethernet failure code; not lost comms. Once they run the VIN through PTS/FDRS, any active TSB's associated with these codes will pop right up. In regards to this SSM: Message me the VIN and I can check PTS to see if your truck was built with the referenced minor feature codes. I can also see if the codes do reference any TSB's or this SSM.

New 2024 purchased in October..
Errors on 10/23/2024
Pre-Collision Assist Not Available
Park Aid Malfunction
Blind spot Detection with Cross Traffic

Those kill the cruise control, to fix stopping, turn off the engine, open the driver’s door reseted the system and cruise works. Took it to the dealer, they checked it out and gave me the letter posted above - wait for update in Feb ‘25. Suggested Turning off adaptive cruise control until then. Not a huge deal, except just ran from Minnesota to Massachusetts- 5 resets required and finally the system does not reset, it boots up with those faults and the cruise control is not functional. Drove the last 300 miles without cruise - strange how much cruise helps on the interstate. I could really use cruise for the trip back - any suggestions other than trying to get an east coast Ford dealer to squeeze me in?

Having the same issue on a 2023 Max and received this bulletin. How did you turn off the adaptive cruise control? I attempted it, but I am locked out of it as soon as I turn on the vehicle because of said warning messages?

Just saw this. If your still in MA reach out to Tasca in Cranston RI. They may be able to take a look at it.

Once it is gone, you are toast, it requires a at the dealer reset, at which point you again have control. I have been through 6 of those, went to a dealer a bit farther away for #6 and they basically said “ we can fix it but it won’t stay fixed, scheduled an appointment for early March to get the “magic” software update that fixes this. Wrote a letter to Ford.. they sold knowing of the issue, why have a standing service bulletin ready to hand out.. finally had a response today saying they would make a buyback offer, yet to determine what that is..

Dropped my car off wednesday morning at a different dealer. was figuring theyd just call me back and say a fix will be sent out in march like the other dealer told me when the fix was in October. They called and actually got Ford to pay for further testing of modules.
