This SSM APPLIES to 2022-2024 Expeditions equipped with FORD CO-PILOT360™ (DBCBB: Standard on XLT Trim vehicles) and FORD CO-PILOT360™ ASSIST+ (DBCBC: Standard on Limited Trim vehicles).

This SSM DOES NOT APPLY to 2022-2024 Expeditions equipped with FORD CO-PILOT360™ACTIVE 2.0 (DBCAM: Standard on Platinum Trim vehicles) and DOES NOT APPLY to FORD CO-PILOT360™ASSIST 2.0 (DBCBA: Standard on King Ranch Trim vehicles).

SSM 53419 2023-2024 Escape/Corsair, 2022-2024 Expedition - Various Driver Assistance Feature Warning Messages Displayed In The Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC), Various Invalid Data/Lost Communication Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) Stored In Various Modules

Some 2023-2024 Escape/Corsair vehicles equipped with driver assistance features with minor feature code DBCAB for Escape and minor feature code DBCBC for Corsair and 2022-2024 Expedition vehicles equipped with driver assistance features with minor feature codes DBCBB and DBCBC may exhibit driver assistance feature warning messages displayed in the IPC. Additionally, some modules may store invalid data/lost communication related DTCs. The image processing module A (IPMA) should not store these DTCs. To confirm a vehicle is built with a certain minor feature code, review the build information by double-clicking the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the upper left corner in the Professional Technician System (PTS). This condition may be due to the software in the IPMA, causing it to not communicate on the network. To restore communication and functionality, download and run the IPMA - Image Processing Module A (IPMA) Recovery app in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. Once IPMA communication has been restored, download and run the IPMA - Image Processing Module (IPMA) Alignment app, recheck DTCs and confirm that all warning messages are cleared from the IPC. If these steps correct the condition, release the vehicle back to the customer. Advise the customers that a permanent repair to prevent recurrence is expected to be available to dealers by the end of April 2025 and schedule a service visit at this time. This software update is also expected to be delivered to vehicles over-the-air (OTA) starting in May 2025. Software will update automatically if vehicle connectivity is enabled in the vehicle's settings. If the IPMA still does not communicate on the network after performing the recovery app, continue with normal diagnosis. Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 419-07 > Lane Keeping System > Diagnosis and Testing.

I may have this issue. Searched for codes last night on my 2024 Limited and three stored codes related to the IPC came up. ForScan Lite said they were not current codes, so I didn't worry about them. Sounds like I should keep this issue on my radar.

I have been in shop 4x for this issue. It’s a real pain. Constantly popping up with “collision avoidance disabled” and cruise control module issues too.
This update was supposed to be q4 then got pushed to q1 now is q2.

I have it also - they switched SSM number when the permanent fix moved from February to Feb/March to Now April/May. Three failures reset with a total shut down. But when the dreaded front camera fault hits, you have to get a dealer reset. I have had six dealer resets, vehicle works great for 50-300 miles then fails. Safety systems, Cruise, auto lights, some sync adjustments all nonfunctional. Mine started 4 days after purchase.

Ford is updating SSM 53419 by issuing SSM 53760, which pushes timing for dealerships to have an available software fix to June 2025, and sets the over-the-air (OTA) software update fix to begin in July 2025...

SSM 53760 - 2023-2024 Escape/Corsair, 2022-2024 Expedition - Various Driver Assistance Feature Warning Messages Displayed In The Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC), Various Invalid Data/Lost Communication Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) Stored In Various Modules

I wonder if this is just due to FDRS not telling the IPMA it is calibrated after it calibrates it. If anyone with the issue has FORScan, pull up the IPMA config and check what you have here:

706-26-19

xxxx 0xxx xx--

If you have a 0 there, try calibrating the IPMA with FORScan and if it completes to 100%, I would try changing that zero to an 8, write the change and reboot the IPMA to see if the problem goes away. I learned this from one of the gurus over on the F150 forums.

No DTC list has been provided by Ford, but with the SSM describing the IPMA as being the primary source, I used the 2022 Workshop Manual's Master DTC charts to picked-off these Invalid Data/Lost Communication DTCs involving IPMA faults in various modules...

DTC List.jpg

Looking at the numerous features in the two SSM-cited Driver Assistance packages, it's not hard to imagine how Invalid Data/Lost Communication effects might cascade across successively-involved modules where various other DTCs may be set, so the above listing should be considered incomplete...

Good luck!

Good luck!

I wasn't able to find the 2022 Workshop Manual DTC chart, the one I have is for 2018-2021; but my vehicle is 2022.

Second question, I get U2008 under my CCM; I can't find a reference to that code anywhere. the IPMA comes in with B115E
does the Manual show either of those?

CCM (cruise control module)
DTCDescription
U2008:08Sensor Cluster: Bus Signal / Message Failure
The associated Diagnostic Pinpoint Test indicates "This continuous memory DTC sets in the CCM when the pre-collision assist range status, yaw rate and vehicle velocity messages from the CCM are missing. "

IPMA (image processing module A)
DTCDescription
B115E:08Camera Module: Bus Signal / Message Failure
The associated Diagnostic Pinpoint Test indicates "A continuous and on-demand DTC that sets in the IPMA when expected communications are not received from the rear parking aid camera over the LVDS (low voltage differential signaling)."

Good luck!

Thanks for sharing this, but The “fix” was scheduled Q1 2025, then February 2025, then March/April 2025, then June/July 2025, now October 2025.

i'm on 6th time now, it's currently at the shop as I type this. They don't have confidence the new programming will work if it's released. delayed over a year at this point.
Ford also hesitates to replace parts. My personal take is that there's an issue with multiple modules or potentially a wire harness, and they want to program a solution to avoid spending $500 on chips.

I had 9 dealer visits, latest reset failed in less than 40 miles, and by failed I mean gone and not coming back until it gets a dealer reset. No cruise, no auto lights, no blind spot, no pre collision, no parking assist, 10 gear goes phantom at times. Dealer tried to get new IPMA during the gap in SSMs, Ford refused the order. I like this vehicle other than the electronics glitch, too bad it will become a “Lemon” repurchase by Ford, and I will lose money in the transaction. Enough though is enough, they made a build mistake on certain VINs, and are unwilling or unable to fix the issue. Really disappointed with Ford Corp and their handling or lack of handling of this issue.

I posted that back on June 26th, they have had the vehicle almost a month now. CCM was "bad" took 2 weeks to get a new one. New one is in, won't hold a program. They think the IPMA is fine, but can't confirm without more testing. Ford corporate is refusing any parts until all programming steps are performed at least 2-3 times with documentation each time

Who have you dealt with at Ford Corp? Was one a woman with the initials F.C. by chance?

Mine got this message recently and took it to the dealer. They reset all the modules, told me that the ford "fix" is coming next month and sent me on my way. 1 mile down the road it popped up again...
