Special Service Message 53891 - 2025 Expedition/Navigator - Power Running Board (PRB) Operation In Auto Mode - Approach Detection Enabled
2025 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with PRBs do not deploy the running boards in auto mode when the easy entry/exit setting for "Approach Detection" is toggled on. This is a change from prior models. Easy entry/exit under Settings in the vehicle's center display screen incorrectly indicate PRBs will deploy if the approach detection is set to ON. This will be changed in a future Digital Experience software update. The Workshop Manual and Owner’s Manual are also being corrected to explain proper operation of PRBs during Approach Detection.
