I have a brand new XLT 4wd with 1,500 miles on it and there’s a rattle somewhere in the front end driving me crazy. It’s not a hard clunk, more of a plasticy, hollow rattle when going over any bump at slow speed. It also does it coming to a stop between 5 mph and full stop. The strange part is that it only starts making the noise after the car has been running 15-20 minutes. It is completely quiet until then going over the same roads that it rattles like crazy once up to temp.
Is there some component in the front end that adjusts once up to temp? I’ve jacked the car up and pulled on the wheels, struts, sway bar, etc. and everything seems solid.
Before I call the dealer has anyone experienced this? The dealers are backed up a week plus and being that it doesn’t make the noise for 15 minutes I highly doubt they’ll actually ever hear it. I don’t have much faith in dealership service departments anymore.
