I live in an area with terrible cell service, and for $200 and $5/month Starlink is very enticing. Boosters cost more and are less effective for what I’m looking for.
I’m looking to see if anyone has done something similar to my mount setup and if they have how was your result?
2022 with dual sunroof
Mini antenna, 3M double lock velcroed to the top of the rear most sunroof. Yes Velcro will block about 5 square inches. I’ve not noticed a performance issue. I checked clearance and it should fit even when sunroof back (1st click, but not second). And the sun shade is inches away. The only thing I want to figure out is more discreet wiring to the rear power point. And set the power points to turn off within 10 min of car being off.

Thoughts? Better Ideas? I don’t want it outside the vehicle.

I don't use mine all the time in the car but we just put it on the dash and it works great.

Closing the loop here. Installed this weekend. Works great with plenty of clearance for the sunshade, the sunroof does hit it, but it opens to 90% so I’m not concerned. I barely use it anyway. Routing power was more of a pain as I didn’t realize the curtain airbags do extend to 3rd row. Was able to chase the vents though and got power routed to rear PowerPoint. Just need to adjust the time off setting from 1.5 hours to something more like 30 min.

Not totally on topic but I was a little bugged about the $5 dollar change to putting it on pause BUT now I have realized it is awesome. I use it way more than I used to and I am not needing to unpause it as much as I used to. I really only unpause it 3-4 months of the year but can use it 12 months of the year now.

For now, the dash placement is fine for me. I do need to make/design/3dprint a better mount for it to sit on the dash but I'm plenty happy with that setup for my current needs.

Any photos?
About 1-2mm clearance at 1click open. (Sunroof glass is curved slightly closer to edges have less clearance) The second click hits immediately. I wouldn’t recommend keeping it even 1 click open as the truck and sunroof flex too much on normal driving. 3M dual lock clear, four 3”x1” strips. Getting it off is a pain and flexes the glass, I think I used too much.
In that location with heavy trees overhead and west and 2 story garage to south, was still getting 80 mbps down, 19 up and ping of 39ms.
More than adequate.
Wire was run to rear passenger side (3rd row glass) then down to the PowerPoint, where I have 130w USBC plug.
