have searched AND SEARCHED....but it "looks" like there is a rear hump holding up my 3rd row seats....which I "think?" can be removed w/the seats to give me a flat cargo area. Have removed middle seats and just want to confirm 3rd row removal will leave me with a flat bed inside....the rear jack container/cover area is throwing me off. I basically want a hollow rear expy cargo area that is flat (before removing everything and having to re-install it).

Thank you all!!! Happily have found a cherry expy xlt that is 1000 times better than my 1st gen forester....which has it's merits other than replacing the wheel bearings....ugh.

The rear cargo area isn't flat. But is easily able to be made flat with the installation of some creativity. Other members have done it and it is doable. Also police/government have utilized tube frames made to fit the rear of the expedition to give them a flat cargo area to use for the mounting of lock boxes, tool boxes, etc. Those frames typically bolt into the bolt holes used for the 3rd row seats. I had one that I took out of my 2012 XL and sold with my 2011 SSV.
