Theoretically...if we pulled modules out of a salvage truck.....like the BCM, DDM, MFD etc. you might be able to run them outside the truck on 12V power, connect them together and have a lab of sorts.

No DDM, but the theory is sound!

You would need a means to complete the circuit for the in gear detection for the head unit. It is actually just a simple case of wiring the two wires together for in gear and apart for in park. In motion is a little more complicated.

Anyone else get kind of annoyed by not having visibility into the HVAC settings while using CarPlay?

Very annoying. It's so weird how it's impossible to turn this feature on. It's standard on most other cars and makes it so difficult when trying to see what you're changing the temperature to. A few people saying use voice but the problem is you can't use Voice when connected to CarPlay as it defaults to Siri and there's no way Siri can change your car temps. lol
