Hi all, 86,000 miles and the connecting rod and piston for cylinder #4 are nevah comin' back. holes in block. Really unsure what's up and why, other than "freak thing". Tuned, yes, but has been for 5,000 miles of ownership.
"While I'm in there", really thinking should change the torque converter.
Anyone have experience with aftermarket brands or OEM replacement or?? Prices seem to be a few hundred to $700 to $1,500 (performance companies). I'm thinking a solid reman unit of good reputation and willing to pay close to ford money if somehow better than OEM... but is there such a thing? Or stick with OEM?
I did have light shudder previously and it was "fixed" for 5,000 miles with the shudder guard, then recently "fixed" again with 20 oz of lubegard platinum on fluid/filter change... but... it's so accessible right now and so "not" in a couple weeks.
