Towing capacity 2015 EL XLT 4X4

Many places I have found the towing capability to be around 6k Lbs. With that it states 9100 Lbs - "If equipped". What does this mean? The vehicle does have Towing brake module, a receiver and all terrain tires. TIA

Unless it was added aftermarket, brake controller means it has HD Tow. Can also check for 7-pin connector.
