Currently the camper we are looking at is 27' lol why do you say not to go over 25?
Mine is 33' feet. You'll be fine with 27 feet, as long as you load everything appropriately.

The payload (not the tow rating) will be your weight limit. You didn't say what size campers you were evaluating or how many people you plan to have with you, but I suggest staying under 7,500 GVWR for the trailer. If you can get a lightweight camper, that's even better as it will give you more margin on the tongue weight.
Really appreciate all the insight guys. Currently the camper we are eyeing the hardest comes in a 7,000. Which I figured would give me plenty of extra weight to add in for people and supplies and such. I know I don't wanna push the "tow capacity" weight to the max cuz then I'll be over everywhere else. Also why I was checking on the HD tow package cuz without it this trailer woulda been over the limit anyways. Trying to stay around that 27' mark give or take as long as it has room for 7......cuz I have way to many kids Haha
Be very studious as to the categories of weight you will be carrying...Three holding tanks, propane, bodies, hitch, added accessories (batteries, solar, generator, etc.), cooking supplies and groceries, clothes, toys, bicycles, etc. & etc. Then add more because it will happen. Much more enjoyable to go camping with too much tow vehicle then not enough...Really appreciate all the insight guys. Currently the camper we are eyeing the hardest comes in a 7,000.
