OK there has alwasy been one question in my mind about transmissions.

When stopped for periods at either traffic signals or some other road stoppage is is best to return the transmission to neutral or keep it in drive but hold the car on the brake?

The laziest thing of course is to do the latter but I was wondering is this put extra wear on the transmission?

answers on a postcard to.........

Leave it in drive with your foot ont he brake. If you constantly put it in neutral you will wear out the internal components. For more detailed info go to www.f150online.com in the transmission section and gregg evans should be able to answer your questions.

These things last 250,000 miles in city traffic no matter what you do the them. Just change the fluid every ten years and drive like a gentleman.
