Last failure at around 50K, complete rebuild with new CDF drum. Now, at 72K, had it drop out of gear trying to go to 6th while accelerating on the highway, engine spinning, loud clunk, back into gear. Dropped it off at the dealership to get the two recalls done and have the transmission looked at. Got another rebuild.

From the work notes: Removed transmission oil pan and valve body assembly. Performed air pressure test and found clutches C and B failure. Removed transmission and internal components, found C/D/F drum bushing dislodged causing damage to #3 sun shaft seal. Clutches B/C burnt. Replaced C/D/F drum clutches/steels , replaced clutch B frictions/steels. Completed transmission and valve body overhauls. Flushed torque converter, cooler and lines. Reassembled and reinstalled.

Thankful for extended warranty. Runs out in August, so I got some time to think over my next move.

Seems like these tranny's are hit or miss.....My 2019 is at 162k with no transmission rebuild....While others are being rebuilt at 30/40k miles.
At least you got warranty.....or else it would've been $$$

Dealer just 'overhauled' my 2022 Timberline trans at 70k .... missing and clanking since 35-40k Took to dealer multiple times while under 60k warranty, all they ever did was 'reset' it. Thankful for Endurance aftermarket warranty but still had to pay $500 ($100 of it was deductible) for $6k repair and 3 weeks in the shop.
Love the truck but after AC compressor (fixed under factory warranty) , control arm now needs replaced at 70k, multiple minor issues (mirrors locking up, etc.), plus the recalls, etc. IDK what to do either. This was a $90k truck walking away. Trannies are CRAP for sure. Ugh.

If I buy another Ford, I'll be writing a nice size check to FloodFord for a long extended warranty. I usually don't believe in them, but this one has paid for itself for sure.

I bought a 2019.. left the dealership, stopped at the next exit for lunch.. with about 12 miles on it, the transmission was doing some really strange stuff. I was able to get it back to the dealer. The salesman drove it from the front of the dealership to service department.. service manager said Hump.. It not supposed to do that. That is why I ended up with a white.. not red expy.. It has about 115k miles without issues other than the stuffing coming out of the muffler.

108000 miles on my '19 F150 and 68000 miles on my Expedition. Zero transmission problems! The F150 tows the boat. Look at the YouTube channel "Flying Wrenches" he is a former Ford Tech. Does a LOT of 10 speed Ford transmission rebuilds.
