Hi everyone,

At Fully Driven we are always looking for ways to make this site better for the entire community, and who better to guide that evolution than you—our members! If there’s a feature or forum section you’ve been wishing for, something that could work better, profile or access issues you are experiencing or even a small tweak that would improve your experience, we’d love to hear about it.

Whether it’s related to functionality, navigation, content organization, or anything else—no idea is too big or too small. Your feedback will help shape the future direction of the site and ensure it continues to reflect the needs of the people who use it most.

You can reply directly here or send your thoughts via Private Message if you prefer. We will be reviewing all suggestions and sharing updates as improvements are made.

Thanks for being part of this community and thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Change the forum to “light style” as the default or move the icon to change it from dark to light, to the top where it is easy to see and reach.

I hadn't thought to look for the style setting until you mentioned it. Found a way to set the default in the account preferences.

@MADDOG Some of the color choices in the default style result in a blue on dark gray background. Difficult for my eyes to discern.

Here's an example:

Yeah, that is hard on my eye as well. My suggestion to the owners is to change the link and tag font to a bold red.

@99WhiteC5Coupe

Thanks for the input.

For now, go to the bottom of any page here at Expedition Forum and look for the link titled "Expedition Forum" with a small paint brush in front of it. It is on the lower left side right above the words "Community platform by XenForo® © 2010-2024 XenForo Ltd."

Click on the link and select "Light Style".

I understand how to find the small paint brush - but it should be at the top of the page, not hidden in the lower left hand corner. And - a paint brush is a symbol that doesn’t tell the viewer what it is for.

Perhaps the forum can be changed to default to light style when someone connects to the home page? I have my preferences set to light style if I log in, but I don’t always log in.

I'd like to see a sticky in each generation's sub-forum along the lines of "What did you do to your Gen(x) Expedition recently?" One of the F150 forums has this and it's quite popular. Let the people who know what they're doing(not me) talk about what they did.

I understood what you suggested, and we will look into it.

As I said, for now the style chooser can be changed to suit member preferences. Changes to the site will come later once we have gathered information from the members here and your input will help immensely as we go forward.

Another recommendation:

If I connect to the website, but do not log in, then click on “What’s New” - it provides a list of new posts.

When I scroll down to the bottom of the new posts, there is a box for “See More”. When I click on that box - it takes me back to the top of the new posts’ listed (but adds more new posts at the bottom of the list).

Change the program so if a user clicks on “See More” - it adds new posts below, without taking the user back to the top of the list.

Not sure if it's me, but, I feel like I used to be able to "see all" 4th gen posts in a list, without category. Now, I have to go to "new posts" and see everything or drill down into categories. I'd like to just see one page with all new/recent posted activity 4th gen wise and decide what to read, if possible?

Ya, I tried with this as well,
all I got was excuses,
and how I was doing it wrong.

I understand what you are saying, but this layout isn't new to the auto forum world. If you go to any other auto forum, they have it laid out just like this new layout. I have other forums myself that has this same exact layout that I have been working out that way for years. I will find or build an add on so members can choose what forum section they want to see "New Posts" from, as thats not a bad idea.

On the old site one could easily find sub-topics by 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th generation. Now it seems all is lumped together.

The layout is still thrown together.
All the new sections are still under the old sections. and everyone is posting everywhere.

So you are saying your other forums go thru their old layouts to get to their new layouts?

At the very least get rid of the skeleton of the old layout,
that would get rid of a couple clicks right there.

Unless you want people to keep posting on the old layout?

Not sure I'm following you. Nothing goes through an old layout to a new layout. Not sure what you mean there. Are you talking about the General Section that is not under any generation forum? That section shouldn't really be there and all the threads and posts need be moved to their own generation general forums. Is that the forum section you are mentioning?

My other forums have always had the Generation sections layout you now see here, with no one having issues with it. So I understand that you are not liking the new layout we have here on EF, but it's what has always worked on my other forums, easier for new and old members to find posts they are looking for, better SEO, and more organized.

To make things easier for you and others that don't like it, I'm having an add on created to allow you to chose which sections you only want to see when you click on the "New Post" button. For example, if you just care to only see new posts in the 4th generation section and classified section, you will only see new posts from those section you choose.

From the main page, when you click on 4th gen, 3rd gen, 2nd gen 1st gen you are clicking the old layout. Then that brings up the new sections
Until (literally just now) you could still post in them. They are not needed.Screenshot 2026-01-08 at 8.46.11 AM.png

That's not really the old layout. It's the same wording(title) but not the same layout. It may look to be the same from the front page, but there are no threads in the generation sections anymore(thanks for moving them btw, you and the staff). So I wouldn't consider it an old layout.

Like I said above, I'm having someone code up a new add in that will allow you to choose what sections you want yo see new posts from when you click on the New Post button. So if you don't the new layout(setup), this will be another option that could satisfy your like of the older layout.

I am for the new layout.

Just don't like the old layout hanging around. (it is not that way on your other forums just this one)

Can't wait to see the "new posts" changes.
