I've driven vehicles that had sat on the lot so long that the brake rotors were too rusted for the pads to clean off the rust. I wouldn't buy a vehicle like that. The Expedition I bought appeared to have been driven frequently.

Cash deal with no trade is not a positive to the stealership.16K off is getting closer... I gotta believe having one sit for 16 months is no good. I have no trade in/no finance requirements/cash deal.
Agree… they hate cash deals unless they know you well and you had bought a few cars there before.Cash deal with no trade is not a positive to the stealership.
This...is how you may be able to work the lowest price out the door. Dealer financing and then use your cash to quickly pay off the note. Remember, price out the door is the number you want to negotiate. Any other kind of numbers are all smoke and mirrors.Use the dealer's financing to get a better deal then pay off the note in a few months.
This is exactly what my wife & I did with her new Acadia a few years ago, since we had the insurance money from when her previous vehicle was totaled out...still no trade to deal with, but we were already pre-approved for financing at ~5%/60 mo, and ended up getting the new Acadia for $7.5k less than we would have if we had paid with cash... made no sense to us, but it was what it was....Use the dealer's financing to get a better deal then pay off the note in a few months.
