Yes, they called it the GEM module. The part they were talking about was the fuse block on the passenger side. I remember that the fuse block and modules were attached, but that was previous years right?
It is a 2008 Expedition EL with limited package.
They said they put in a new GEM and ran it for a few minutes and it shorted out the module again. Then they tracked it to the Instrument cluster. They apologized and said that they would eat the cost of the cluster and fried GEM module. Only paying for 1 GEM module now. I still think its a short somewhere, but these guys are the Auto Electric Experts and well reviewed around town.
Feels like I'm being taken for a ride, but I also know electrical problems can be tough.
