If it's a 5-digit number, do you still make them bring cash money? Take a check and hope it's not bogus?

Or what?

Wire transfer to your bank or credit union account. Takes all of 5 minutes, worst case a few hours.

So you watch them purchase the cashiers check?

When I sold a car last year, I had the purchaser go to his bank and issue me a check - that the bank verified was “good”, and then cashed it immediately. That bank then issued me a new check, and I then deposited the money to my account at my bank.

Don would you leave with $20,000 cash in hand? Easy pic'ins.

Adieu, I would be at the bank teller with them, buyer states that they are withdrawing x amount of dollars and buy a cashiers check made out to me, the seller. That way the bank also has my ID for the check to verify the transaction isn't being forced.
