image.jpgimage.jpgI’m trying to do a check on the A/C in my ‘22 Exp. The sticker says R-1234yf, but when I look at all the auto parts stores and enter my year, make and model they all push R-134a. I’m going to use the R-1234yf unless someone here with more knowledge says otherwise.

Go with the sticker hands down. This is a huge legal requirement during assembly.

As a side note as someone who's worked AC, if you suspect a leak, take it to a shop and have them pull a vacuum on the system to determine if you're low and leaking. The system is properly sealed and shouldn't need maintenance unless a seal goes or a line/condenser gets a hole. The home remedies off the shelf can do more damage if not careful, since you can't properly monitor high/low sides and have the system properly balanced.

This will be worth it so much more down the road.

Thanks HILLY! I put it in the shop this morning. Waiting to see what the out come is.
For what its worth, I had AC issues with mine. At first dealer told me it was normal to need a charge after 4 to 5 years so it wouldnt be covered by the Ford ESP. I disagreed but needed my AC. Conversed with the dealer about putting dye in and if the problem returned within a year as I suspected, they would take care of me properly. I had the same issue the following year. The issue was a leak at the rear evap core. Its an entire assembly in the rear panel. Good luck.

If it is worth anything, I fully agree with Hilly.

Enough said, clear and concise.

Thank you Hilly,

(What you said and the way you said it reminds me of my buddy Nick who works on big chiller plants).
