Wondering if anyone has installed a Whipple Mega Cooler or other in a Stealth Performance Package Max? Looking for feedback/thoughts as I think about doing it (although will not get a tune). TIA

Im probably going to get flak for this, but with all the issues people have had with Gen 4 Expy drivetrains, I would not modify a new / newer Expy and void the warranty.
The aftermarket part has to be proven to have caused the problem though before they can deny the warranty claim. An intercooler isn’t going to cause any problems so therefore shouldn’t void warranty.

Do you notice heat soak often or run the vehicle hard (funny to say about a full size SUV). The intercooler are small, but usually do the work needed on a daily driver SUV. Especially if you’re not getting a tune might not be worth it.

I agree with you. No flak here.

They CAN Certainly void the warranty if in ANY WAY the engine has any aftermarket parts installed. The part does not need to be related to the issue. its in the print of warranty requirements

That is supposed to be how it works and may have 15 years ago, but no longer. Ford will find any excuse to deny the warranty and you will have to hire an attorney and spend 10s of thousands to maybe get them to cover the repair. No goverment agency will force Ford to abide by the M/M Warranty Act

Not true at all. Had to be proved to cause the problem.

Totally agree. Didn’t say Ford lives by that, just saying what the Act states.

TO BE CRYSTAL CLEAR. The Magnuson-Moss act does not really cover power adders. It covers, say using a NAPA Oil filter vs a Motorcraft brand filter. If it matches or exceeds OEM specs, then it cannot be used to deny warranty.

That being said, dealer matters. You have a good relationship with your dealer and the Service Department, you won't have any issues. ALL of my Fords have been tuned, and many with aftermarket hard parts like IC's, lifts, and other things. No issues with Warranty. My Edge had the Motor replaced with a tune on it, but the failure was a Ford Head issue on the 2.7's. No risk of denial, cause my dealer staff are professionals.

You could argue an upgraded IC is not a power adder, and actually helps the motor to maintain lower intake manifold temps. So it would be VERY hard for a dealer to say it was the cause of the issue with no other modifications. Plus my guess is the OP is not going to be tuning without A LOT of hassle. The 24's require an unlocked PCM, and for that to happen on a 24 you have to swap to an older PCM, cause the one from the factory is not unlockable, like the 23 F150's.

Now let's discuss the IC itself. I would do CVF over Whipple. Cheaper, and just as good a product. Look up Tyler Clark on the socials, as he has a code that can save you even more on CVF.
