I'm no expert but after a year with Bilstein 5100s I can say I think their awesome. They absorb the jolts of really bad ruts and settle down quickly ready for whatever comes next. Great highway manners; smooth and controlled without sway. Zero regrets for my purchase and work well with 35" BF Goodrich KO3's (295/65 R20) and a 3" lift on my 3rd gen Expedition Platinum 4WD (minor rubbing on front folding step only). Heading out to the mountains of New Mexico to do some bongo cruising next week and will report back any negative suspension stories (I expect zero issues).

I went Bilstein just based on rep and word of mouth. I wanted something close to stock that would be more durable than Ford's trash. They're still running with 100k+ on them.

Same and I couldn't b happier. I didn't get the 5100 I got the stock 4600 and it rides and handles better from day 1 to also over 100,000 miles and it feels like I just put them on.

I defiantly give them a workout too, every time I drive.

Example... an interstate cloverleaf on ramp at 45 with ease with this big brick. couldn't do 35 before Blisten.

4600s here also. :) Just pulled up my receipt and bought them in June 2018.

Agreed that they're up there. I just replaced my rear shocks due to leaking stock units that had only 22K on them.

Went will the Bilsteins because of cost, reliability, and use factors. I've been down the expensive shock route in the past on other off-road rides that I've had. It's not necessary to have non-bushing shocks (pillow balls, spherical bearings, etc.) as they are expensive, require above average maintenance and servicing (rebuilds), and are usually noisy (squeaks & clunks). I had a 4Runner that after several expensive rounds, eventually settled on the 6112/5100 setup that should've been done from the get-go. For my fronts, I'm already planning on trying the F-150 6112 based on my previous experience with this shock.
