Hi everyone, decided to make this post since I saw a few unanswered thread with the same problem.

Well, as some of you might know I got my truck last week and it's been running like a champ. Parked last night, got in this morning @ 5am turned the key something popped and the entire truck died. I mean everything died and heard clicking sound out of the fuse box opened it up #2 relay clicking like crazy so I took it out (of course it wouldn't come out without breaking) went to the parts store got a new one and truck started right up. So if you come a cross a similar problem which seems like some of you did it's an easy fix.

Here is a video of what it sounded like. Oh and the ford part number didn't come up in the auto zone computer so this super helpful staff member pretty much went through every relay box one by one until he found it. I'll post the part number later.

good information would had been more helpful if you gave the year of the expy that you had the problem with and also which fuse box the relay was located in

When it comes to electrical problems it is always best to give year information Ford is well know to make changes in the electrical systems between different years and gen's

Relay specs would be more helpful - standard iso or mini, 4 or 5 pin, with or without resistor and amp rating.
Also a pic is worth a thousand words.

It's a 2001 first gen, as you can see in the video it's under the dash, and according to the fuse box cover it's the #2 relay.

Then a video is worth million words. Lol. (Post #1)
I'm not a mechanic. I like cars, able to work on them and fix things up to a certain point. All I can tell you is it's the small one with five pins. For a million bucks I couldn't tell you if it's with or without resistor or the amp rating.

So, after putting a brand new battery, if one day your expy dies on you and you start hearing clicking under the dash (like a few of the members did) replace that relay. To get the part number click on the link in post #2.
