Disconnect the "Glass Ajar Switch" inside the rear hatch.

I'd go a step further and add a switch inline that I had easy access to so that it would operate when needed.

While moving, the "GEM" should turn the lights off when the truck reaches 2 - 5 mph, but will come on again when stopped. To shut them off while parked, I use the ignition key to rotate the the latch "finger" into the closed position. This turns the lights off because the switch is in the latch and the truck thinks the door/glass is closed. Just remember to trip the latch back to the open position with the handle before closing.

Actually it 15 mph to turn off but come ON after u stop for 2 second. It annoy cause I had intermittent issue with rear hatch randomly it stay ON. I would love to disable that lights for hatch door.

+1 that it is 15mph that they shut off.

If the lights don't go off, WD40 all the door latches. That frees up the door ajar sensors again. Worked for mine.

Mrazndead, I don't know your reasoning for turning the rest of the lights off, but if it is any consolation, my lights used to stay on for quite some time when I had the aforementioned issue, and I never had an issue with a drained battery. I am not sure how long they do stay on before automatically being shut off, but I know it is quite a while. If that is not your main concern, then do as Stamp has suggested.

all the lights and everything work fine/how they should on my car.

I'm sorry I should have explained better. When I'm tailgating or at the park, or by the lake, I like to have the glass hatch open, or the rear open to access things easy, or just hangout in the back of the car. The interior lights stay on however, when the glass is open. I just wanted to turn them off manually when i'm tailgating with the hatch open...thanks for all the replies

I also like to leave the hatch or glass open when I am at the range, but don't due to the lights. I'd like to disable the latch switch and just manually operate the lights from the switch on the rear light manually.

So you are saying to open the hatch, and then use the key to lock it while it's open? That will kill the lights?
