Hey fellas,
Can anyone personally vouch for a set of shorty headers that fit the 2nd generation expedition with 5.4L 2V engine? Gibson has a set (part number GP220S), but even Gibson themselves cannot definitively tell me that they will fit a 2V.

Gibson makes a decent header for the truck and SUV motors.
if you're looking for more power and torque sorry to say but you're wasting time and money. unless you have a complete rebuild with upgraded camshafts bigger throttle body and raised compression headers wont do anything effective for those motors.
I have a set of Gibson shorty's on my expedition they work fine. when built my engine last year it made 342HP and 359FT TQ that's 12HP and 7TQ above the factory manifolds. but the engine had your basic cheap mods and bolt ons.

you wont see much of any gains on any gasoline engine with high miles.
including a 3 valve.
most notable gains are seen in new engines, rebuilds or performance builds.

I have to disagree guys. I put the shorty headers on my 3V 5.4 with the complete magna flow system and notice a nice take off and aggressive sound. HEADERS alone I feel wont give you that much gains just minimal. I feel if your just going to do the headers you need to help the headers out with the complete exhaust system.
