It comes down to this: Are you a Ford or GM person? That will answer your question on which one to choose.

Brand matters more to some than others so that may not be the determining factor.

I drove 2 2015 Denalis. First one traded after 10 months, had issues. Drove the 2nd one for 3 years and traded it in for multiple smaller issues that dealer could't resolve after months. Getting my Exp tomorrow and will never go back to GMC. Been a Chevy/GMC man my whole life. Hopefully ford worked out major kinks before releasing unlike GMs first release of the tahoe and yukon.
I never test drove the Platinum but even the xlt EXP drives much better IMO. I hated the acceleration of the Denali. There is a delay from pedal to performance, but once the Denali kicked in it was great. The magnetic ride in the Yukon was very stiff. Yukon felt better in turns at speed, but I prefer the tougher(not rougher) truck feel on a ride this large. Denali has a stiff sporty ride on a heave large suv. All about personal preference here.
Both are great inside. Yukon not as good for my rear facing baby car seat. Features are very simliar. Edge probably goes to Denali on this.
Now for the real issue for me. The Yukon feels air tight sealed and bothered my ears. The ford probably has slightly more road noise, but I prefer that to the dampened road noise that to me sounded like very low level base thumping. Yukon was much quieter on smooth road conditions but slow speed bumps in the yukon felt like I was sitting inside a base drum.
I know the Yukons have worked out most of the issues by now, but make sure to do extended test drive. Google "Yukon denali pressure/drone sensation and booming" issues before you test drive to make sure the one you are looking at does not have the issue. 2 of the 3 GMs I had had it. Some people are more sensitive to this issue than others. It drove me crazy on road trips and while my wife noticed it, she tolerated it much better.
Good luck in your decision. I hope you enjoy the new ride.

A lot of people do blindly follow brands. I’m guilty of this with Ford, a trip to any forum will prove your point to be semi true for diehards.

Just got my expy ltd today and i must say lnitial impressions to both me and wifey it blows even my dads escalade out the water. The escalade feels way more trucky, it shimmers more, less roomy, and doesnt feel as solid. Its not the platinum model escalade, and though it looks great insodr amd out, further i spection shows its already falling apart. As stated by me, armada is closest to the expy in terms of road comfort but thats without ccd, just a tad softer than the expys std suspension. With the ccd, the expys ride is greater. Also, materials quality is def up there, way better than the 17 models. I know a lot of people ding the 18 and say get a denali, but honestly, with the seat time ive had in mine, the expy went from meeting the gms with comprises to top of class no questions. If you like the look enough, do yourself a favor and take one on an extended test drive, youll feel how much energy ford rele put into these things. With the expy being as good as it is, I can just imagine the navi with its immaculate interior is like.
Congrats on your new minivan purchase

I've owned expeditions because I like the look of it more than any other reason. Same with my other vehicles.

There was a point when I was younger that I was more or less brand loyal because everyone seemed to be. I eventually realized it didn't matter and being brand loyal is ridiculous.

What have they really done for you to make you loyal to them? Your parents were brand loyal and now you are? maybe one of them worked for a company and/or retired from them so they are so great even though the others offer similar retirement packages? On the other hand, One or two people had a bad experience that you heard of so you don't want anything to the brand? Even though it probably happens similarly with the other brands?

Yeah we used to hate Fords. Owned nothing but Chevys every thing from 2 Malibu's one of which we just purchased about a week ago we have also owned a 03 Tahoe and a 2007 Chevy Suburban. They all have been great vehicle until be bought our 2012 Traverse it had issues, always getting something fixed on it. Did get a Ford till the 2016 Expedition a few weeks ago as well. The only big reason we got it is because the dealer we worked with help us get rid of most of the negative equity on the Traverse. The expedition was just the right fit at the time. Brand loyalty now a day's really doesn't matter especially when you're comparing it to Ford and Chevy both companies or strong American brands it's all a matter of preference of style in engine.

When we bought our first SUV we went with Ford because they didn't take the government bailout. Can't say I'll only ever buy a Ford, but I can say I'll never by a GM.
