Probably not, just take it out and do it right.In question to Mr Hall if you pump the pressure tester up to around 16psi wouldn’t the bypass let pressure past the thermostat? Just wondering

It's a closed loop, so pressurizing the cooling system will affect the entire system through the radiator feed and return hoses. The thermostat controls coolant flow but does not create an isolated section within the cooling system.In question to Mr Hall if you pump the pressure tester up to around 16psi wouldn’t the bypass let pressure past the thermostat?
