it would be incredibly easy to put a forced induction 5.0 coyote in an Expy. Hennessey and similar groups could absolutely do this no question. it would make one bad ***** too!!!!!!!!!

If you have a spare $25,000+ laying around, maybe you could pick up the 5.2L GT-500 engine and fit it into the Expedition. Now THAT would make on bad *****. ;)

I'd rather do that to a 1st or 2nd Gen Lightning...

I don't want the full-tilt-boogie horsepower in a 3+ ton family boat dragger, but a little go-fast, turn hard truck, hell yes.

My birthday is in August, hint hint LOL

Kinda makes me wonder what the weakest link, driveline-wise, that the Expedition has.....

Surely the transmission is pretty robust (maybe not 760hp/625 ft-lb robust) but I'm sure the diff would give up before the trans or x-case...

Then again, the Expy got a bigger diff, yes? As in, something bigger/stronger than the old 8.8?
(I ought to know this, but honestly didn't pay the diff any mind when I did my struts..)

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but I think it’d more likely make an interesting pile of broken transfer case and differential parts.

Then wait for the parts list of the 2022 Raptor-R to see if it will use the engine and what new part numbers for the other components will be.

... The 5.0 is in the same vehicle category as the EcoBoost...they aren’t made for sever duty.

that's probably the single most useful piece of information about these engines I have ever read. Basically, they're expensive toys.
thank you very much.

LOL, calling that an automatic is a little non descriptive. like calling Tom Brady a regular old quarterback!! It is a DCT, and while technically an automatic, it is a whole other beast in its own category. And the Tremec TR-9070 is a spectacular example of a DCT.
