which vacuum lines did you replace? IMO, for what it counts, if a line is broken or has a hole, chances are things will be in fail mode all the time, or near all the time. Man, that rust up north is tough... It'd check the lines and cables underneath. I looked over my 02 on both kbb and nada.... Nada showed more value on the clean trade in (nada did not have private party as kbb did). I'd run the vin on car fax or something. Being that I've lived years back there...- 0xowner

Need opinion on buying Expedition
You can find better deals out there with lower miles. Those buy here pay here places get that higher dollar as they finance folks. I always feel heading south, even down to Texas or Oklahoma, you can find something good.- 0xowner

Safe to drain tranny fluid via cooler line??
Which transmission? My 2002 4.6 with 4r70w has a rubber cap for accessing a drain plug, but I've read the drain plug was discontinued after 2001. I have not yet turned the motor by hand to verify if I actually do or don't have one though.- 0xowner

Glad you're ok. Hope you get what you paid for it... Let us know. The front seats looked great from the pics. If anything, after insurance settles perhaps get it and part it out. Could look for another 1st gen.- 0xowner

Starting to look over vacuums for idle fluctuation & Ac defrost / panel vent issue
There are threads out there discussing that the Ac system is used when in defrost mode as to dehumidify the air to speed the defrost of the Windows. I'd concentrate on performance first... Necessities or functionality before nice to have or looks. Sounds like a lot of items... Did you buy it from a car lot or private party? Spark Plugs, Torque Specs, and TSBs for the 4.6 2v
I pulled #1 and found as a AGSF32PM and it was at .52 and showed brown anti seize in threads ... looks like the previous bloke sank some coin into it... with a proper shop.... awesome ! looked great and got it back in at 13.5 ft lbs.... that is set at 13.5 and first got hand (fuel line)...- 0xowner

Well today the local stealership sold me SP-493 or AGSF32PM plugs, but I just bought one as the tried to charge me 7.91 whereas fordparts has it as 5.10. They were nice enough to knock it down to 5.10. Rock Auto is 2.37. The owners manual from 2002 listed AWSF-32P I will probably pull one...- 0xowner
