Did you delete the rear 2 or all 4? I want to delete my rears for the sound. I was wondering if there's a noticable power/torque increase from deleting the rear ones only. From what I've read there shouldn't be any error codes or drivability issues.
I was interested in them because they look like they allow for more travel than any other affordable struts. Icon/Fox/King are what I would really like but way out of the budget. I noticed on my Monroe front struts there's only 3/4 of shock rod showing before the bump stop, so almost no...
It goes away as soon as you let go of the key..I would think starter or flexplate. You can pull the inspection cover off the transmission and look at the flexplate teeth also make sure it's not loose or broken. The shaft on the starter could have worn out bearings.
I was considering buying these hoping for better ride quality and the adjustable height. I noticed the spring rates listed on their website are much lower than those listed on Amazon.
After a long drive a clogged cat could glow red if it's really bad. You can use a laser thermometer to check the temps. If you have 4 cats, verify that both front cats are about the same temperature after driving for a while. Do this with the rears as well. If one is much hotter than the...
I had exactly the same symptoms a few months ago. After driving it like that for a while the engine light came on, the code was for the crankshaft position sensor. However, replacing this didn't make a difference. Ultimately it was caused by a failing COP. I never had issues with city driving...
The front drivers side corner of my expedition was hit recently. Since then, my corner/parking lights stay on all the time with the headlights and the front turn signals do not work. However, the rear turn signals are working and hazards work on all four corners. When I signal a turn, the...
It was a guess basically. I unplugged each cop sequentially with the engine running and the #1 seemed to make the least difference. Also it’s closest to the crank sensor so most likely to interfere and in the front of the engine so nearest to weather moisture etc is what I figured
I read on another forum something about a bad COP causing an interference with the signal from the crank position sensor. I never had a misfire code or any symptom that reminded me of a misfire, but I decided to try swapping coils. Replacing the COP on cylinder 1 fixed the shuttering and...
I'll have to look closer. I noticed that before the new wires the green tach light would always illuminate during a stall and now it does not.
Can this code be caused by the camshaft position sensor? I never tested continuity on that circuit I only replaced the sensor.
I tested continuity while moving the harnesses and still got the consistent beep. I then cut the wires for the crankshaft sensor near the pcm and ran my own wires to the sensor with a new connector to the sensor. What's strange is that the jerking and stalling has improved a lot but I got the...
