Question- why didn't you go with the 6" and 3" and do fiberglass fenders on the front. They are cheap compared to what you had to do and get and would let you run those tires no problem? It would probably work out to the same height as you could fit the 40's instead of just 38's.

Looks like you got quite a deal. I got mine for $2k that's 3 years newer, leather, and has the 3rd row but was in much worse shape. If the trans fluid hasn't been changed in the last 50k miles change that as well as the fuel filter.
Are you adding roughly 15% of the mileage back on to what the odometer says to account for the larger than stock tires making it seem like you are travelling less distance? Most of these trucks came stock with 30-31's so having 35's changes that.
