I'd be reluctant to use a "compound" on anything other than heavily oxidized or marred paint. A good polish (I really like Optimum Polish II) with a random orbital buffer (Porter-Cable 7424) and medium-cut pad will remove light/medium oxidation and light scratches. To really get out all...
Where are the grease nipples for a 2006 RWD Expy? I just picked one up and wanted to give it a lube, but can't find any. I don't have a repair manual to consult.
Thanks in advance.
Well, here it is. I had to clean it up a bit before posting a photo. My 2006 EB with 41K on the odometer.
I washed it, clay-barred it, polished it (with PC 7424 and Optimum Polish) and waxed (with Collinite Insulator Wax).
It's pretty clean with next to no rust.
I just bought a 2006 Expy with 41K. The exterior is clean an it runs pretty well (about 18.5 mpg where I live- semi-rural). It too has the rough idle you mentioned. I usually shift it to neutral during long traffic red lights and it smooths out.
I'm Auto-Rx'ing the engine, tranny and p/s...
I just bought a 2006 Expy EB. The air filter was filthy and the air box below had a lot of leaves in it. I ordered the Amsoil air filter. I'll post after I install it and see if I get anything in the way of sound/mileage/performance.
TO be honest it doesn't really matter as long as it does...
I have the EB version with both the transmission and P/S coolers. I traced the lines to/from the P/S reservoir to the pump to the cooler and back, but no filter.
But I did find a nice spot under the front shroud in front of the radiator where I can set up an oil bypass filter with easy...
Well, I'm not lying on the mileage. It was what the computer was showing. I'll calculate the difference soon. Granted the trip was open highway 90+% of the time. I could see that city driving would drop the mileage big time with al the stop and go.
NOOB question. I recall reading about a P/S fluid filter needing changing on the Expy. Is there actually one or is that an aftermarket addition?
Thanks.
Hi:
I just brought home a 2006 Expy EB. A central Florida car with 41K. Sweet!!! I needed something larger than my Sienna for boat towing. I'm also impressed with the mileage. The computer showed 22 mpg at 70 mph with the a/c running.
I plan on getting an Expedition and will likely be looking at a late model. One I am considering reportedly has the "towing package" which extra capacity is needed to tow the boat. How do I determine whether this actually has the real towing package versus the standard hitch?
Thanks in advance.
