I would go to the parts store and buy a small 12v bulb and plug the two wires into the plug connector. Then have someone crank the truck and see if the light flashes if it does then the brain is turning the coil on and off. If it doesn't then the problem is either a loose connection or bad...
Easy. Just use a 6 inch extension with a short 10mm socket. Three bolts holds it in and one 10mm for the main batt cable and a 8mm for the other trigger wire. DO NOT FORGET TO DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE!!!!!!
toms89 is correct the blowing out spark plugs is the 2V. I have only ever seen one case where the 4V had one blown out, but i don't know if they had just removed the spark plug in order to make the noise for someone to believe them.
I don't know about the 99+ motors but on my 97 the radiator cap is actually on the overflow bottle. The overflow bottle is tied in at the lower rad hose. So if his is the same he would have to take the upper hose off to see if there is flow.

I have one from crutchfield. It takes place of the cd changer in my truck. I believe it is the isimple I'll find the link and post it later. The rear controls even work with it.

I would personally not change a thing except I would raise drive to 625 or 650. I don't like how low mine idles in drive. With the ac compressor kicking on and off i have seen as low 450.
I'm going to say a/c drain. Mine clogs up almost every summer. If not that then sunroof drains if you have a sunroof.

That is the tranny cooloer and power steering cooler. The 97 has a remote oil filter; i love it on mine. Wish i had the additional tranny cooler though.
