    cigarette lighter power

Thank You for the reply. I found that there is a circuit that is controlled by the key on and off, the audio circuit that turns on the radio. If I can get to the circuit that powers the lighter and move it to the audio it will work. I just have to figure out how to drop the fuse board that is...

Cigarette outlet vs In dash 12v outlet

Does anyone know how to get the fuse panel that is to the left of the steering out so I can move some wiring to get the cigarette light port to be controlled by the ignition key turning on and off? The Audio fuse # 1 is switched and #3 goes to the cigarette lighter and OBDII port. I just want...

    cigarette lighter power

I have a 2000 Expedition with two cigarette lighter ports. Both still have 12v power when the key is turned off. I want to hook up a dash camera and want to turn it on and off with the key so when I turn off the car the camera turns off and vice a versa. Is there a way to make one or both of...

    Cold Start problems

i finally found the idle control module...it is located on the left back side of the throttle body. Took it off and cleaned it and the problem is fixed. Probably never been cleaned before. YouTube has some good videos on how to do this.

    Cold Start problems

What controls the idle when the engine is cold? I have a problem with the engine starting at its normal 1500 rpm and then idling down to normal idle. The throttle is controlled by a cable to the pedal. If I put a bit of pressure on the throttle to get it off closed it then will run at fast...

    Hard Start Cold Engine

Can someone explain how the ECM can control the cold idle when first starting? The throttle is controlled by a cable to the accelerator pedal. The throttle has a throttle position sensor but what controls the idle? There is no idle control motor like other engines. Where can I go to fine the...

2000 4.6 rough idle when cold but ok when warm

I have a 2000 4.6 Triton and it was running just fine when starting. The normal process is for it to go to 1500 rpm and then slowly run down to just under 1000 rpm. Now it stumbles when it tries to start and stalls. If you keep your foot on the accelerator so it can run at 1500 - 2000 rpm and...

The vacuum line is not connected to anything

I know what you are talking about. I bought my 2000 expedition from my neighbor who said the vents in the dash only blow out the defroster vents. I fixed the broken hose you speak of with a hose connecting the two pieces and everything now works fine on the dash. He was told by the Ford...

The vacuum line is not connected to anything

No the line I am looking for to find out where it goes is the one that has a diagonal cut on the end and the end is sitting on top of the battery post. It is a thin plastic line but does have some vacuum. So far I have plugged it up but it must either connect to something or is some kind of...

    Vents changing with engine load

I had the same problem and there is a thin vacuum line behind the parts on the left side of the firewall. Replaced with a piece of hose and everything now works.

Need pics of vacuum line near battery

Most likely the one going to the firewall controls all the dashboard vents to open and close.

The vacuum line is not connected to anything

2003 with 5.4 engine. There is a small vacuum line that is in the rear of the left side of the engine bay. It comes off a connector with two other larger vacuum lines. It is a hard plastic line and the end is cut at a diagonal. Can't find what this is all about. It has a vacuum on it at...
