I haven't seen this before, though I have seen snow and ice in the door jamb and rocker panel area, either from blowing in or coming off boots. I would recommend drying it out then spraying the area with silicone spray. That may help with drainage of water/snow.
Just to add to my reply above, the problem came back. But, I found the problem in my case, which was a corroded liftgate switch. See: Power liftgate opens randomly - fixed (2016 Navigator)
In case anyone has this happen to them (may be Navigator-specific), here's the story:
vehicle:
2016 Navigator
symptoms:
- power liftgate would open upon startup and would occasionally open on its own when the vehicle was left unlocked
- it would open 80% of the time but eventually was 99+%
-...
Hey guys,
I have a 2016 Navigator Reserve and I'm trying to track down a leak. The fluid is thin and slippery, almost like coolant. It leaks off the truck at the bolt head on the body mount. But I haven't found a source beyond the mount yet ie. everything above the lowest part of the mount...
Found my pics. Attached for what it's worth. The first is a pic from the front seats aimed toward the back (the 3rd row is folded down). It's with the 2nd row centre console removed, which I usually do in the winter so I can throw snowboards in there without fear of ripping up the leather on...
Just wanted to add my experience to this thread as it was the only one that came up that had the same symptoms I had.
Background:
- 2016 Navigator
- power liftgate would not open, but you could hear the latch releasing and then a few seconds later latching again
- there was no noise, like any...
I've been meaning to provide an update to this thread but keep forgetting. I eventually went with the Husky and am very happy with them. I have a 2nd row console and the Husky mats have cut lines to fit around it.
I have Weathertech's in my car and find the Husky is a lot easier to keep...
I had 17x8.5" aftermarket rims with OEM-sized 265/70 tires on my '05 Exp for the winter. I forget what the offset was but it was close or exactly OEM.
My '16 Nav has OEM 22" and the 17" bolt right up with no clearance issues, tire dia. is the same, and the aftermarket Redi-sensor TPMSs also...
Late to the party but just to add another data point: I do all the work on my vehicles (minus the tranny rebuild) but with the last 2 I bought, they were still under warranty. So I got the Ford Premium Care warranty and $0 deductible. Sounds counter-intuitive, but I made my money back on them --...
Not sure which ones you have but as a data point, I bought some from discounttiredirect.com when I bought a winter wheel pkg for my 2005 Expedition (valve style). I now have a 2016 Navigator and they trained fine this past winter. I spoke with the manufacturer years back when I first got them...
I was just about to ask for help on entering TPMS training mode on my 2016 Navigator as I'm putting winter wheels/tires on it, but I got it to work. I did some searching on the forum here and found there was some information that may be useful to add for others, so here it is.
The Navigator has...
