Wife has lost only key.My question is besides taking to dealer to have a new key programmed,or calling a locksmith.I have seen the bypass kits, but was wondering if one would work without having to have the programmed key.

Unfortunately (and someone please correct me if I'm wrong) you will have to go to the dealer or locksmith. Was it your only key? If so the dealer might be the least hassle as they see it alot. If you have extras the locksmith (depending on his/her "keeping up with the times") can probably do it for you.
Question...Is the key the locksmith made programed? Get some spare keys off ebay and program them yourself. Its easy takes a couple minutes to do. And will save you time money and a grand headeache.
can you shed more light on how to do this? step by step? what to search for on ebay? get it copied then program?
No you can get one from Walmart programmed using your existing key for 50 or 60 bux. Once you have one key you are good to go. Plus, why bypass security on the truck.Thx....but unfortunately the 99 does not have onbaord programing without 2 working keys...gonna have to get another from dealer
