Hey guys got another question for you. So im planning on changing out my fuel filter (06 expy AWD) and after doing some research I think I know how except I am finding different methods on depressurizing the fuel lines--and I really don't want to mess that part up. Ive read that you should take your gas cap off--also read that you should take out one of the fuses instead--and then another said that there is a shrader valve behind the engine that you need to do something with... So anyone know for sure what the best method is?

Other question is that I saw some people bought a special tool to remove the old filter lines--is this necessary?

Thanks

Remove the fuse for the fuel pump then start the engine until it dies -the system is now depressurized. Yes, you need the tool for the quick disconnect coupling for the fuel line.

Yes pull fuse number 12 there at the passenger side kick panel and start the motor, let it die, and you should be good to go. You can find your Motorcraft 986 fuel filter and the 5/16" line tool at any Advance Auto in your area.

The fuel filter is located in front of and at the top of the gas tank on the driver side... metal plate with two nuts on it covering the filter....

You'll need the 5/16" fuel line tool to remove it ....
