I am in the process of changing my intake manifold. Broke the o-ring flange at the passenger side crossover tube and dumped enough coolant in about 5 miles to overheat.

Since the plugs haven't ever been changed, I'm going to replace them and the COPs now, even though I've only got about 175,000 miles on the clock. A new thermostat is also happening. Got a new OEM intake. Looked for a good aftermarket unit, but didn't see anything.

One issue that kinda worries me is that one of the little red rectangular o-rings (#5) that go in the fuel injector electrical plug is way swollen. Is that an indication that the injector is leaking fuel into the electrical connector? A quick search didn't turn up anything about this? It also looks like replacements for those little seals are hard to find, short of an new harness or a salvage yard. The other 7 seals look okay. Should I just go ahead and replace that injector or do they need to be replaced as a set? I will clean the injectors, throttle body, MAF while it's apart. What else should I do?

Thanks alot! Now I just gotta figure out if I need just gaskets, a whole set of injectors, or something in between.

Well I guess I'm lucky. When I did the first plug change, 3 & 4 were barely seated, not much more than finger tight if at all, # 5 was just slightly snug. None were what I would call acceptably close to spec. All the holes felt okay, no excessive wobble or looseness when the new plugs started. Put the new ones in at about 17 ft lbs with Never-Seez. Posted a second thread about that injector question.

Can't answer the question about the injector except to say better safe than sorry. I'm used to carburetors, and haven't ever had an issue with my injectors.

I gotta say, this was about the easiest V8 spark plug change I've ever done. It's a breeze with the intake outta the way.
