Sorry searched and did not find an interior LED install thread.

I have the bulbs and have replaced the puddle and reverse lights. I am looking for any help with the license plate and interior lights and how to get to them.

the license plate looks to be simple but when I pushed the tab in a pulled down on the first side, the tab broke off and now the light housing wont stay fully in or come out. is there a trick to this, so I don't break the other side too?

For the map lights, did you take the whole unit out of the liner along with the sunglasses holder? or just take the lenses off? I looked at this link because mine looks similar, but it definitely isn't coming out that easily.
for the middle row did you take the whole housing out or pry the lenses off?

same question for the dome light in the cargo area?

The license plate light housings are known for being fragile, and most who go LED there seem to break them trying to get them out.
For the interior, you just have to pry off the covers over the bulbs. In mine it was easy for the second row and cargo, but the front was a real triumph popping off. In my wife’s I ended up pulling out the entire cargo light to get the cover off, and I had trouble getting the front and second row covers off, you just have to be patient and keep wiggling them around until they finally come free from the clips and pop out.

License plates:

Pry out fastener with a pronged vinyl prybar (or go SUPER CAREFUL with a metal fastener puller).

It has the philips head thing but it wont do shit dont bother trying.

Have replacement fasteners just in case.

Map lights:
Stick vinyl prybar under lens, gently pry around on 3 sides till it swings out

Done both on both my trucks. Used JDM Astar , cheap and powerful.

Middle row:
Pry the lens with vinyl.

Third row:
Pry off the entire lens with vinyl, this one feels like you could break it pretty easily

PS on my lincoln, they have an odd tendency to glow ever so lightly when supposedly off (barely visible, had to ask a friend if he saw it too or I was just imagining it), not a big deal for me, but might eventually drain batteries for people who leave their trucks parked for weeks or months

And the dimmer barely works with the basic LEDs

Thanks for the replies.

Another question, I replaced the taillight bulb and am getting hyper flashing any solutions that aren’t install resistors in wiring?

And I got t my reverse light bulbs and the metal contacts are on the wrong side to touch the contacts in the connector. They are the right size but if I plug them in there is no light. I can give a pic later.

These bulbs are all from jdmastar

Flip the led itll work

Deal with the hyperflash or program it out with ForScan coding

The relay link you might find if you search is a false trail for older vehicles, there is no flasher relay anymore

You can disable hyper flash using ForScan.
I put in reverse LEDs today as well. Only problem one of the bulbs was bad in the 2 pack was bad. The one that does work was very nice and bright white. Big upgrade and will hopefully help give a better picture for the back up camera at night.

I did license plate bulbs as well. I used a pick to push the tab in (very gently) then pushed the whole housing to the left, slid the pick up and grabbed from the top of the housing and slowly pulled down.
No issues or breaking just needed to be careful. The left was a little more difficult as there is very little wire to pull it down, or mine is snagged and I did not want to pull to hard. So it was tough to get a good grip on the bulb holder to twist it free from the housing. The right side had a lot of wire to pull down so disconnecting it was no problem.

I want to do the interiors because I want white light in there but I don’t want them to be crazy bright.

So here is the pic (hopefully it works) of where the terminals don’t line up. If you flip it the terminals still don’t line up.
Is the bulb backwards? Do I need a different bulb?

Bend the wires over to the correct side of the plug. I'm not saying bend the one in the pic to the left but to actually flip them over to the other side of the base.

I hope you can understand that because its confusing to read but it is 100% your problem.

I'll try to explain it another way.
See the socket from the car, notice the metal pin on the left. If you flip the wire (not shown in the pic) of the bulb to the opposite side of the base it will line up with that metal pin. Then do the same to the bulb wire shown in the pic.
