    What size is the cat-back piping? Shorty headers will help with the low end torque. If you open things up to make the engine breath better and flow better you can still gain some low end torque as well as more mid to upper horsepower, but if are after torque, shorties and a good aftermarket...

    I was told when I locked up my 5.4 in my '99 EB that it would be $7,000 here in Ohio from a Dealership. So I told them to shove it. I have been rebuilding it myself since I drive a company truck for work. I am looking at less than $2,000 doing it myself with performance parts from Jegs and Summit.

    Just be careful with some transmission flushes. I have heard of shops not changing out the fluid after a flush, and then they flush yours with old fluid. Can't say it is fact, but only what I have heard.
