P0299 and metal shavings in turbo piping

I paid cash. It was wholesale. I knew the risk. Engine runs smooth. Too bad check engine light wasn't on when I bought it. Probably be best to find a used motor than to rebuild. I might have more money into it if I rebuild. I don't know. I found an engine in Pennsylvania with 91,000 miles and...

P0299 and metal shavings in turbo piping

To the compression check. Engine came up to 145 on all cylinders except the middle back one which would be the middle passenger side. That one came up to 55.

P0299 and metal shavings in turbo piping

My apologies for the delay. Been a busy week with the kids. I am unable to view the wastegates. They are buried. I will be doing a compression test tomorrow. My oil separator showed up yesterday. Got it installed. I pulled the map sensor from intake. It had a lot of oil caked on it. I...

P0299 and metal shavings in turbo piping

You think it's possible that the inner cooler is filled with oil? Never thought of that. I installed a catch can on the expedition. I ordered one for the explorer. I hear no turbo line when I rev up the engine or accelerate down the road.

P0299 and metal shavings in turbo piping

Hello everyone, I am posting a question concerning a newly purchased Explorer Sport. A little backgroung - I had a 2015 Expedition that I purchased with around 209,000 miles in May of 2022. I got a decent deal on it and it ran flawless. Well, except for an issue with my ABS pump. Aside from...

brake issues - pedal slowly drops to floor - abs pump concerns

I've replaced the pads, front calipers (driver side had torn seal), and replaced check valve for booster. Still no improvement. It sorta feels like a clutch pedal instead of a brake pedal.

brake issues - pedal slowly drops to floor - abs pump concerns

I am a little skeptical on the pads being the problem but I have to go with what they guy did. I ordered some pads. I'll update once I change them out.

Replaced pads and rotors, brake pedal sinking to floor now?!?

Thanks for clarifying on the 6 months. I missed that part. I have been reading through all the comments while at work and didnt pick up on the timing.

brake issues - pedal slowly drops to floor - abs pump concerns

I have to admit, reading your post made me think.. why in the heck would pads cause this issue??? Then I read the post and realized he used Powerstop pads and rotors. My sinking pedal issue started after upgrading to Powerstop. The vehicle did not brake well and I had the same issue with the...

Replaced pads and rotors, brake pedal sinking to floor now?!?

I apologize for bringing this back from the dead, two years later. UniqueTII, what is your long term assessment of the situation? I bought a 15 Expedition back in May. Brakes didnt feel that great. Dealership said rotors were turned. I found the same exact issue you showed in that picture...

brake issues - pedal slowly drops to floor - abs pump concerns

Shortly after purchasing the expedition, I replaced the pads up front because I noticed a lack of braking. I installed the pads properly. I do not recall how they were when I pulled apart. But my situation is not that I have squishy brakes but that my pedal sinks to the floor.

brake issues - pedal slowly drops to floor - abs pump concerns

I swapped back to my ABS pump & module and everything above was corrected, except for the pedal drop. Last night I swapped in a different ABS pump along with ABS module and everything as described above came back. Pedal situation was not corrected. Can anyone confirm if the pump needs to be...

brake issues - pedal slowly drops to floor - abs pump concerns

Hello everyone, I am having some issues with my 2015 Expedition with braking. I went from a 2010 Navigator (which braked very well) back in May to this 15 Expedition. I noticed right away that something felt different about the brakes. I started out by changing the front pads and rotors (had...

Ford Sony vs Lincoln THX difference

The more I thought about it afterwards, the more I was leaning to what you are suggesting. Perhaps I will try new speakers. Thanks!

Just ordered my 5 Star Tune - Any advice?

I purchased an SCT X4 with a couple tunes from 5 star for my 2010 Navigator. I purchased it mainly for towing as I would be going from Michigan to Georgia in a 24 ft travel trailer. I installed the tune and it seemed ok. It didn't feel like it did a whole lot. This was just street driving...

Ford Sony vs Lincoln THX difference

I recently went from a 2010 Navigator to a 2015 Expedition limited with the Sony setup. Just curious if anyone knows what the actual difference is between the two systems? I understand the head unit is different (obviously) but in the end, how much is really different? I am referring...

upper engine rattle along with P0022, P0341, and P0346

My 2010 Navigator has 210,000 miles on it. For the past 2k miles, it has developed a rattle after the engine has been warmed up for some time and I am strolling around at slow speed, or around idle operation. I suspected it to be the cam phasers. It sounds like a diesel and shakes the car...

Streaming from Android device to overhead DVD setup

Just curious if anyone has ever been able to get your android device (phone, tablet, etc) to work with the overhead dvd screen? I will be taking a trip in a few weeks and thought it might be nice to stream some Netflix or various video from my phone onto that screen. Thanks

First time experience with towing a 25 ft 4200 lb trailer

It does have an EAZ Elite distribution hitch. I need to get it onto some flat surface to make sure it is set up correctly. Would a tuner help with the shifting strategy? It seems like it shifts in an out way too much.

First time experience with towing a 25 ft 4200 lb trailer

I picked up a travel trailer this weekend with my gf. I had some questions as to what I should be expecting with towing a trailer of this size with weight. My 2010 Navigator does have high miles. It is reporting at 202,000. I am aware that I cannot be expecting the world with that mileage...
