Update: sold it last month for $1025 to a local guy who was going to try to fix it. Got a text from him today stating the local stealership fixed it. had 2 shorts in wires behind the intake. Well, the mechanic has had it for 2 months and said there is nothing left for him to check. The local junkyard will give me $500 for it but scrap value is around $650-$700. the thing is I don't know what a diode is......at all. Connections were clean and tight....made sure of that and doublechecked again today while looking for something, anything loose. The mechanic who made the house call is getting it Friday.- PO'dexpd'nowner

Well, I noticed something different today. As I was moving the charger around I accidentally hit a button onit and it showed "ZERO" under the alternator light. that would explain the battery draining but what about the stalling/theft light issue? Well it's been a while. I planned on towing it the huge dealership 25 miles away but my uncle told me to wait and have his guy look at it. Unbelievably, it fired right up for him today when he made a house call and ran for 10 mins vs the 20-30 seconds it had been doing. he said the fuel pump...- PO'dexpd'nowner

5.4 Issue!
no it won't. I've been chasing this code 1147 for over a month now. I give up. Done replaced pcm, battery, O2 sensors, DPFE, 3 towings, etc. I'm going to the city (Louisville) either today or this week and talk to the BIG dealership up there. unhooked battery all night, charged it up, wouldn't go past 68% (truck voltage meter was showing fine)....will have to get it replaced. Went ahead and hooked it up though to test....theft light on. Actually read a thread a week or so ago where a theft light was on and kept draining...- PO'dexpd'nowner

New development today. Been sitting for 2 days and will not start. Even at the beginning the theft light is staying on. So something finally went kaput? I never swapped batteries...forgot about it. yes....every morning when I start it, I try the other key...keep changing them every day. Yesterday I kept it revved up to about 2200 rpm's and it lasted for 44 seconds and then instead of stalling it stumbled, came back for a escond, then stalled. somehow or another I got the theft light to turn off 3 times by moving wires around over by the a/c dryer. Don't know which one b/c then I'd have to walk around and see if it was still flashing. It could have went off on its own afte 2-3 mins of flashing but I never noticed it go off on its...- PO'dexpd'nowner

I have a few more things to check today.....some wires going down by an A/C pipe and some wires going by power steering pump. I have several TSB's that I'm wanting to look up but can't fnd a website that will let me see the entire tsb...just a summary. I already have the 0162. I'd like to see...- PO'dexpd'nowner

Forgive my ignorance. The fuel pump is in the tank. How am I suppoed to to hook a voltmeter to it? Or are you inferring check for voltage on the wires going to it? Still those wires would be pretty difficult to get to wouldn't they? That TSB you posted was what the "electrical specialist"...- PO'dexpd'nowner

just got home from taking the kids swimming. I stopped by a little shop on my road and asked him about this. He didn't know what else to do either. However, he did tell me of a shop that would send the pcm off the $50 to have it tested. I'm pretty sure the pcm isn't the issue but it may give...- PO'dexpd'nowner

Let it sit overnight to reset the Theft light. Turned key over, no light. Before doing anything else, I tested the #19 fuse to the fuel pump again. Still no voltage so I figured that was a problem and it wouldn't start. Wrong. It started right up and ran for about 20 seconds before...- PO'dexpd'nowner

tested the battery voltage at rest and was 12 volts. Never had a chance to test it while running. Took the bottom part of the steering column off to check for any loose wires coming from what I assume is the transponder or receiver, one or the other. Nothing loose and really couldn't back...- PO'dexpd'nowner

took battery out, put original pcm back in, immediately same thing...no start, theft light. This IS NOT a pcm issue. It has progressed and their is no difference between the pcm's. To add insult to injury, I broke 4 vacuum lines on firewall right above where pcm goes in. I hooked it up to...- PO'dexpd'nowner

Ok...bought me a multi-meter at Wally world and just got back in from the barn (had it towed home yesterday....sigh). I have power/12 volts to PCM and Fuel Pump relays.
