rough idle and die 2005? Help!
changed plugs and coils still rough idle. I also have a check gas cap warning every time i start the engine. Thats been there since a knuckle head dropped my tank when the computer fried thinking it was a fuel pump. Even though I told him it was the computer and to check that. after reinstalling...- whipper

Exhaust upgrades
Can I remove the cats totally without issue on my sec gen 03 5.4 2 valve. I want to just unplug the o2,s in the exhaust. Will that hurt or help anything. Or do I have to fit the o2 sensors in the exhaust some were with the cats removed? I dont car about codes as the lights been on for years I...- whipper

Cleared it a million times then gave up. Runs just fine for the most part. Stumbles at idle some times some times not. Heat issues changed alot still having them. im accually trying to find a new motor it might be cheeper and more reliable in the long run. Want to keep this truck forever as...- whipper

Time to part ways???
Taho rides like crap over the EXPO. Yours sounds normal worth around 5 grand as is. Better off fixing it or replacing the motor for 800 bucks. There a dime a dozen at the auto wrecker for low milage ones. Put a 460 in there and get better milage and no troubles? Easy and cheep to work on.- whipper

exhaust clip
Can you remove the cats on the 03 5.4 without any code issues or running problems. We have no smog emissions testing were I am and always thought about doing this.- whipper

My engine lights been on for 3 years. Just put some black tape over it and forget about it. The coils go bad all the time on the 5.4. any little hickup and the lights on. If it runs then awesome.- whipper

Weird High Temp Reading
Mine does same thing only after cold start up then 10 min later goes to full temp over heat then I punch it and temp stay normal for the duration of driving. If I let it sit long enough to go clod it will do it again. Ive replaced T-stat twice,waterpump,2 rad caps. 5.4 03 super common problem...- whipper
