Yes I searched; NO I don’t want to swap out for coils.
Rear suspension appears to be at MAX height and the “Check Air Ride” light on the dash, but no actual codes. Truck has NOT been jacked up/lifted with a jack, totally stock with stock rims/tires.
Turned air ride off; didn’t lower at all...
Front brakes seemed to be dragging a bit, more dust on rims and acceleration seemed a little sluggish. Checked the calipers and they were good. Cleaned everything really well and looked more intently at the hoses and realized they had been changed. Look to be some cheapo parts store junk. So I...
She prefers riding in the passenger seat or in the back with all the seats down. When the truck is parked the entire car is hers and there are nose prints EVERYWHERE
I took your advice and hit up lightwerkz for some info on their kits. I got 2 e-mails back; not really sure how to interpret what was said by the 2 different techs who responded.
Damn, that truck looks GOOD with those wheels! I’d keep them on it. Plus those Hankooks are pretty darn good tires. I ran a set on the wife’s Exploder and they were phenomenal.
It is easy to verify. The control unit for both seats is under the passenger seat. Pull the seat as far forward as it goes, the controller is a 3”x5.5” box that is mounted vertically on the back of the plastic piece that sticks down under the seat. It has 3 connectors (2 of them are small and...
The heated seat buttons were acting funny and seat a/c-heat wasn’t working. A little research led me to the harness ground going into the dscm burning out. Checked mine: sure enough all melted. Further reading indicated I could purchase a replacement harness connector for $36 plus shipping and...
For being 18-20” away from the door that isn’t a bad spread. It appears as if the spread at 18” is approx 16”, which is going to equate to an almost ‘square’ spread (width of spread being equal to distance from bulb). That means at 20’ from the bulb the overall width will be approx 26’ across...
This.
Stiffer springs or air ride is the only way you will actually compensate for the trailer weight. You can use spacers but ensure they are the bolt-in above/below the spring type and not inserts/slide-ins. Think “leveling kit” inserts commonly used on the front springs.
Trimming the axle stub is the way to go. Pretty easy to do with a hack saw or sawzall. I had to do it on the wife’s Exploder and it literally took about 5 minutes per side.
In my opinion leaving the caps off invites future problems: allows more moisture/dirt/grime onto the stub shaft and the...
There is a holster manufacturer here in town, G code (although its under a new name which I can’t remember) They make some really nice stuff. Have touched base with them on making a custom holster for me that would be both IWB and clip into the vehicle, thus making it an all-in-one for me. Makes...
Thre is very little inside the trans that will provide a clunk, especially to the degree that I am hearing. If the trans was clunking that bad it would be in pieces and all sorts of CEL.
I contemplated that; the epoxybased based brush on that is used on rotary. But, it is a textured finish and no actual traction aid. The stick on stuff they use on the 53 and 22 ramps is straight crap. Constantly peeling and re-applying it. May meet NAVAIR spec but its not long term durable. My...
