    Is it worth the cost?

It didn't go away until about 1500 RPM, and at 200 rpm, it was still minimum spec range if I remember correctly about 50psi. The misfires on 1 and 3 never changed either...no matter what we did, and were a daily occurrence under both no load and load conditions. Since I bought used we installed...

    Is it worth the cost?

I didn't have the oil pressure to justify even that muchwork at 15 psi with 5-20 They didn't even listen to it. Got in drove it checked off features and said this is what we will give you. The bank told me 4-5k was trade range so when they gave me 4500 it started getting hard to pass up...

Question for the fathers in here

I'd say that at those ages you are probably safe for now. By the time your daughter hits 4th grade, I betting they will be teaching basic sex ed in school, as I think that's when my oldest two went through that things will change, but stuff happens from time to time even still. I'm lucky that...

    Is it worth the cost?

Thanks for all the comments guys. For what its worth, I didn't necessarily give up on it but I did reach the point where I could not justify the cost. With three kids, 13,11, & 9, whose activities are semi-competitive dance for the 11 year old daughter (traveling dance team), and trap shooting...

    Is it worth the cost?

I did try 5-30 just because it's been so dam cold this winter but the 5-30 didn't change the clatter. I didn't want to starve the top end with too thick of oil either. While it might quiet it down ittt just covers up the issue

    Is it worth the cost?

If it wasn't 75 to 100 miles to the next community with a competent shop that might be an option and is a good idea. It's operable but I wouldn't want to take it much farther. Took it 3 hours to Denver a couple of weeks ago and worried the whole time ...

    Is it worth the cost?

The 7k is with install and while i agree with you on the BMW aspect unfortunately it's the local going rate and doesn't seem far off the national average based on what I've seen. If I had a GM product with a 5.3 for example it's in the neighborhood of 4k installed from these same shops.

    Is it worth the cost?

It is a 6.2. same as what the Escalade got. It's not a diesel. And from what I can tell that year did not have the active fuel management that the 5.3 had that caused oil consumption.

    Is it worth the cost?

I was surprised to hear that 6.2 start with no clicks rattles knocks of any sort and it was clean with no valve cover leaks etc. I have a 2000 Durango with 250K on the 4.7 and it's never be touched, just maintained sine I bought it new and it still sounds like new. Maintenance and care is...

    Is it worth the cost?

I hear that. Three kids under 16 all involved in activities and my truck is the shuttle bus. My mechanic is telling me to send it down the road. Hate to do it but was looking at an 07 Yukon Denali xl with the 6.2, 157K miles and man that is a quiet motor in comparison. I could use the extra...

    Is it worth the cost?

All the shops are giving quotes on the remanufactured motors with a range of 3750-4200 plus 20 hours (according to Mitchell's supposedly) labor at 90-100 per hour. The rest is fluids belts etc. It's a small community and the Dealer is no better on pricing...And has no used trucks of any sort...

    Is it worth the cost?

I have an 05 with 131k on the 5.4 3v. Confirmed oil pressure is 15 psi at hot idle and it rattles and knocks. Several local shops are quoting 7K for a reman installed and out the door. I like the truck but have only had it for 8 months and still owe about 1500 more than trade value. I have...
