did a bearing replacement on my 06 4x4 expedition but my cv shaft came apart in the process so I'm looking to find anyone that has a step by step process in removing the left rear cv shaft
My first attempt was hitting the end of the shaft with a hammer, putting the nut on to protect threads but the end of the shaft flattening out to the point I could not get the nut off without grinding the end down. So that's why I stopped just beating it but I will try the nut and socket trick...
Yeh I can't get the cv shaft to move out of the bearing I did try the air hammer and chisel bit too. Sorry I forgot to mention that. It still did not want to move at all. I'm wondering if I will have to torch the bearing off.
Got a 06 expedition 4x4 and trying to get the left rear wheel bearing off but can't get cv shaft to come out. Tryed 3 jaw puller and pb blaster and hammer. Trying not to damage shaft so looking for ideas or pics on how to get it out.
